Exelon's Renewable Energy Education Center at Fairless Hills
Fairless Hills, PACitizen's Bank, Philadelphia, PA Mercy Suburban Hospital, Philadelphia, PA

Wick Fisher White was responsible for the HVAC, plumbing and electrical design for a 3,700 square foot office renovation. The mechanical and lighting systems were designed to conserve energy and the plumbing was designed for water conservation. The education center itself is a sustainable building project and the power plant onsite is a demonstration of sustainable technologies for power generation, as it uses landfill gas as its fuel source for combustion. The main goal of the new education center is to provide the public, mostly younger school children, with demonstrations of sustainable technologies for power generation. The owner is enhancing the recycling program at the plant to achieve LEED recycling requirements and for long-term resource conservation in their operations. The project was presented to the United States Green Building Council and was awarded Silver Certification based upon Commercial Interiors (LEED - CI) requirements.

The work involved the fit-out of one floor located at the new Comcast Center Headquarters Building in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The project area is approximately 24,000 square feet and included the design of the mechanical, plumbing, electrical and fire protection systems in accordance with the building standards and requirements. Sustainable design elements in accordance with LEED standards were implemented to achieve certification.

Wick Fisher White designed the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for a new 34,000 square foot, 4-story addition. The scope of work also included renovations to approximately another 26,000 square feet that involved expanding and upgrading the existing Emergency Department. Our design was in accordance with LEED requirements as requested by Mercy Healthcare. Construction of the building is complete and Mercy Healthcare is still pursuing LEED registration.
