The work involved renovations and an addition to Benjamin Franklin Hall, which was built in mid-1880's, for the Farmer's and Merchant's Bank. The building is now used as a meeting place for the Society and part of the renovation included the necessary system renovations for a new 400-seat auditorium, conference rooms, catering area and archival document storage areas.
Several renovations were completed at the historic Betsy Ross House located at 239 Arch Street. Wick Fisher White was the engineer responsible for the design work necessary to provide a handicapped accessible, unisex toilet at the service building at the location. The service building is connected by a breezeway roof to the Betsy Ross House and can now be accessed through the Gift Shop. The first and second floors of the facility were revised with Wick Fisher White providing the design of heating, ventilation and lighting. A turnstile, gate, railing and other crowd control devices were provided to control crowds entering the historic location. Wick Fisher White also provided the design of a new security system for the facility.
Wick Fisher White designed the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for the 8,200 square foot renovation of the Engine House and Spillway to create the Head House Restaurant. The Restaurant, located on street level, has both interior and exterior seating, with a capacity to hold 20 patrons at the bar and 192 in the dining area. The outside patio area can accommodate 48 seats. Wick Fisher White designed kitchen utilities, ADA compliant restrooms as well as HVAC, lighting, power and fire alarm systems.
Wick Fisher White provided the necessary engineering design for a 7,700 sq. ft. renovation to provide space to house the Philadelphia Water Department’s Interpretation / History of Water exhibits. Design included HVAC, fire protection, power, lighting and fire alarm.
